Neil Young
Neil Young (born November 12, 1945) is a Canadian singer and guitarist. Coming to prominence with pop band Buffalo Springfield, and reaching his commercial peak during the singer songwriter boom of the early 1970s, his career is marked by experimentation and for his frequent stylistic changes, that have often left critics, audiences (and in one notable case, his record label) baffled. His back catalogue includes folk and country, hard rock, rockabilly, garage rock (which saw him tagged "The Godfather of Grunge") and electronica. Despite this, he retains a core audience of devoted followers.
 
Weird Al Yankovic
Alfred Matthew "Weird Al" Yankovic (born October 23, 1959) is an American musician, parodist and accordion player. He is known in particular for humorous songs which satirize popular culture and/or parody specific songs by contemporary musical acts. His works include four gold and four platinum records.
 
XTC
XTC is an innovative new wave band from Swindon, UK. They are considered the forefathers of the Britpop movement of the 1980s and are one of the most influential bands still working today. (The name of the band predates the use of "XTC" as a drug term.)
 
Wu-Tang Clan
The Wu-Tang Clan is a pioneering hardcore rap group, originally from Staten Island, New York (Staten Island is referred to as "Shaolin" in their lyrics). There are nine original members of the Wu-Tang Clan. All of the nine members have released solo albums and have performed under several subprojects with other Wu-Tang "Family" members and musicians outside the Clan.
 
Stevie Wonder
Stevie Wonder (real name: Steveland Judkins Hardaway, born May 13, 1950) is an American composer, singer, humanitarian and social activist, blind from birth and originally from Saginaw, Michigan. At the age of eleven he began recording (under the name Little Stevie Wonder) and quickly became known as one of the most influential and innovative singer/songwriters of his time.
 
Robbie Williams
Robert Peter Williams (born February 13, 1974 in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire) is a British pop singer. Originally a member of boy band Take That, he split from the group in 1995 and launched a solo career, following a highly publicized battle with drug and alcohol addiction during which he put on nearly 40 pounds (18 kg) and was often seen in public poorly dressed, dirty and unshaven.
 
The Who
The Who is a British rock band. They were noted for the dynamism of their live performances and for their thoughtful music, including Tommy, one of the first rock operas. While not a heavy metal band themselves, their distorted guitars, epic songwriting, and over-the-top stage show were an influence on the genre.
 
Wet Wet Wet
Wet Wet Wet were a successful Scottish pop band of the 1980s and 1990s and scored a number of hits in the British charts, and around the world. Wet Wet Wet were formed in Glasgow, Scotland in 1986.
 
Rufus Wainwright
Rufus Wainwright (born 22 July 1973) is an openly gay Canadian-American singer-songwriter. Wainwright was born in Rhinebeck, New York to folk singers Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McGarrigle (they later divorced). He began the piano at age six, and by age thirteen he was touring with his sister Martha, mother, and aunt Anna as the "McGarrigle Sisters and Family."
 
The Verve
The Verve were a British rock and roll band of the 1990s, originally formed in Wigan, England in 1989 by vocalist Richard Ashcroft, guitarist Nick McCabe, bassist Simon Jones and drummer Peter Salisbury. At the height of their fame in 1997, the Verve were considered one of the finest bands from the UK and were one of the most popular groups worldwide before they abruptly called it quits in 1999.
